In 2021 I moved from Central Florida to Mid-Coast Maine. While this may seem counter-intuitive to many, the natural beauty and slower pace of life makes for a welcome and enriching change of lifestyle. Imagine living in a state with only one area code! It's not a perfect place, but life if full of compromises.

Although Maine is my home base I still travel, but not so far and so often as before. That's ok though since the photo opportunities here are limitless. As this site continues to evolve I suspect there will be a greater focus on landscapes, rural and small town images.

I still believe that photographs speak for themselves, but sometimes there is a backstory that seems important and interesting for a given series of photographs. If I think a person or a place needs more space for the background story, I write additional notes in the "STORIES" section of this site. I also have a presence on both Nikonians and Flickr.

What I Shoot: I shoot primarily documentary, street and projects I make up.

Equipment: I mainly use a Nikon D800 and D200.  I have a variety of lenses including the Nikkor AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8 IF-ED, Nikkor 300mm f4 AF-D ED IF, Nikkor 50 f/1.8D, Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8 ED, Nikkor AF-S 12-24mm f/4 G IF-ED DX, and a AF-S VR Micro- NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED. In 2008 I started using film of and on again, mainly on an experimental basis. I have a Mamiya C330, a Zorki4, and a wonderfully cheap and plasticky Holga.  My latest addition is a DJI Drone which gives a whole new perspective. I'll never give up digital, but I love film because it's less forgiving and more surprising.
